Reading Extended Day Program: Before and After School Care is looking for:

Before School Building Monitor

Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

Hours: 12.5 hours biweekly; 7:00am - 8:15am Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 

Part-Time, Hourly

Salary: negotiable.  This position is not eligible for benefits.

Qualifications:

High school diploma and 3 months experience working with school-age children.

Annual Professional Development Requirement:

Current First Aid/CPR certification.

Attend monthly Community Education Staff Meetings

Duties and Responsibilities:

Welcome parents and organizations into the building.

Maintain accurate daily records of activities scheduled in the building, including, but not limited to, PTO or parent sponsored activities and clubs, Reading Recreation Department, and other outside community organizations. 

Maintain room assignment lists for all organizations offering activities in the building.

Maintain accurate records for a contact person for each organization.

Maintain open communication with Extended Day and building staff.

Assure that unexcused absences for the Extended Day Program are followed up immediately.

Assure that that Extended Day Head Teacher is made aware of any problems, i.e. behavior issues, accident or special circumstances regarding an individual student or group.  If necessary, provide a written report.

Assure that children are released to authorized pick-up persons.

Provide homework assistance to Extended Day children and help with any additional activities.

Perform other activities as assigned by the Head Teacher.
